Thank you and I love you

Thank you and I love you

Karma “Thank you. I love you”

Karma. Have you heard of it? Even if you are not a yogi you have probably heard the word. I struggle with the idea of karma. While I fully believe in it and did well before I got on the yoga path there is something sort of unfair about the whole thing. For instance, I have been highlighting my hair blonde since I was 15 and for the first time the stylist turned my hair bright orange, I go to pick up 24 cuppies from Pie Sisters for a party and they stiff me 4 cuppies (while I paid for the entire half-dozen), I politely wait for a woman to put her cart away at the grocery store before I take her parking spot in the busy parking lot only to be harassed by another person telling me to move out of her way while she calls me a dumb b*#ch! Sheesh! I am all blissed out going through life being nice and strangers are calling me a dumb B! Seriously what gives?!! It seems the more I practice Ahimsa (non-harming) the more karma keeps biting me in the A! I know these are all small things in this game we call life but I had to call upon my yoga sisters and teachers for some advice.

My teacher, whom I regard as the happiest person on earth, gave a simple answer of "just keep being nice, it will burn off soon." The perfect answer if you ask me because that is exactly what all of us are doing if you really think about it. We are constantly burning off and creating more karma. (Hopefully we are not creating too much karma for the next lifetime!).  See, if we do not confront our karma we just keep carrying it with us from lifetime to lifetime like an annoying carry-on you have to lug around the airport.

That is my favorite way to look at all the tragedy both big and small in life. Everything that happens is a form of karma cleansing if you let it. So to the lady who called me a dumb B in the parking lot, “Thank you and I love you” for clearing me of my karma because I must of called someone a dumb B in the past (preeeettty sure I have).

The best thing about karma is it’s on your side. The universe is trying to give you the life you want if you just open your eyes and become receptive to it.
